Since our founding in 1947, Engineered Profiles has been an industry leader, prioritizing excellence and innovation to redefine what is possible in plastic extrusion. This includes developing proprietary advancements such as creating one of the first U.S. vinyl siding products, developing dual and tri extrusions, offering custom part finishing, and leading early development of wood-plastic composites. Over time, many of these groundbreaking innovations have become industry standards—and the foundation for leading national brands and products.
Originally known as Crane Plastics, the company became Engineered Profiles, LLC, in 2009 with the transition to a new leadership team. This milestone marked the integration of several businesses (Crane Plastics, CPC Tooling, Crane Building Products, Crane Blending, and Profile Solutions Industries) into a single organization.
Bringing together these dedicated teams and unique capabilities under unified leadership was a foundational step toward achieving the bold vision of the new owners, who drew on more than 150 years of collective industry experience in defining the future of the company.
In addition to ongoing efforts to recycle and reduce waste, Engineered Profiles is proud to be a net consumer of process-generated scrap. Each year, we purchase millions of pounds of other manufacturers' waste and convert it into new usable products.
Engineered Profiles has fully embraced lean manufacturing principles as a central part of our culture, not just an occasional element of certain programs or projects.
This approach benefits our customers by enabling us to seek every opportunity to add value and reduce waste. As a result, our customer relationships can transcend the usual supplier-consumer dynamic and become longstanding, highly valued partnerships characterized by continuous improvement and mutually beneficial growth.
Our dedicated professionals and advanced technical equipment enable unparalleled consistency during the manufacturing process, resulting in the highest-quality extruded profiles possible. To ensure this, we leave nothing to chance.
Our QA group uses advanced, non-contact video measurement for full-part layouts and dimensional capability studies. This is critical when constructing complex profiles such as windows, doors, or office furniture. During production, in-line dimensional laser measurement allows us to monitor part shape in real time. To maintain extremely tight length tolerances, statistical process controls ensure consistency from part to part. For ultra-precise color matching, color spectrometers ensure that your extruded profiles are always within specification.
Consistent quality also means our parts are manufactured on schedule and ship on time, so you can depend on delivery dates and avoid costly supply chain interruptions.
