Engineered Profiles Announces Acquisition to Support Expansion Plans

Columbus, Ohio: December 3, 2021—Engineered Profiles, LLC, has acquired West Virginia-based company, Co-Ex Plastic Tooling, Inc.! This comes after their recent announcement of adding a 93,000-square-foot production facility in Ironton, Ohio, part of the Southern Ohio Industrial District.
Co-Ex tooling previously operated in Milton, West Virginia and the company has been owned and operated by Roger and Dorothy Smith since 1996. As part of the acquisition, the Co-Ex team will join Engineered Profiles at its new location in Ironton, Ohio. Roger Smith brings more than 44 years of plastic extrusion processing and Tooling knowledge to Engineered Profiles and Co-Ex has long served the plastic extrusion industry with its staff of skilled machinists, designers, and process technicians. The company has a well-earned reputation for bringing plastic components to life for its clients through innovative tooling and processing solutions. Co-Ex’s unique skill set will be a welcomed addition to Engineered Profiles’ already extensive tooling and development expertise.

The expansion will create 55 new jobs with a total payroll of over $2.2 million within the next five years. Open positions will include machine operators, tool and die makers, and maintenance professionals. Employees will receive competitive pay, benefits, and on-the-job training.
